The rotary evaporator condenser is an experimental device that contributes to condensation. The main function is that condensation or reflux is usually composed of two glass tubes (one in one), with the smaller glass tube running through the larger glass tube. The condenser tube is a laboratory glass instrument that uses a heat exchange principle to cool and condense a condensable gas into a liquid.
The condenser is usually used on a flask to be tested under reflux conditions or on a distillation flask to collect the condensed liquid. Condensation of the vapor occurs on the inner wall of the inner tube. The space enclosed by the inner and outer tubes is such that the water area absorbs heat from the vapor and removes the heat. The water inlet usually has a high water pressure. In order to prevent the water pipe from falling off, the plastic tube should be tied with a tube bundle. When used in a reflux state, the lower end of the condenser tube is inserted into a rubber stopper so as to be inserted into the mouth of the flask to receive the vapor evaporated upward in the flask.
The rotary evaporator is vaporized by constant temperature control of the liquid, and the vaporized gas is returned to the condensing device, converted to a liquid after constant temperature cooling, and finally returned to the recovery bottle. Among them, the rotary evaporator condenser tube plays an important role. The gas is returned to the condensate bottle. If there is a leak at the interface of the condensate bottle, it will directly affect the reaction of the gas. Although the temperature of the condensate bottle is controlled by the constant temperature, the concentration of the condensate bottle itself will also be affected; the condensate bottle device It is an important step in the gas conversion liquid. If there is a problem with the condensate bottle device, it will directly affect the purity of the liquid in the final recovery.
There are many types of condensing pipes, such as a reflux condenser, a straight condenser, a serpentine condenser, an air condenser, a spherical condenser, and a double-plug condenser. The rotary evaporator of our company adopts a serpentine condenser tube, which is available in both vertical and inclined styles. The vertical type saves experimental space. The serpentine condenser is suitable for liquids with a lower boiling point. The serpentine design has a large condensation area and the distillation efficiency can be improved.
