How To Scientifically Manage Laboratory Equipment?

Technical Knowledge 2023-02-17 13:53:28
LABOAO has been engaged in the production and sales of laboratory equipment for many years, and has rich experience in laboratory equipment. The following management methods of laboratory equipment hope to provide you with some references and ideas.

Laboratory instruments and equipment are very important. Instruments are the "soul" of the laboratory. Without instruments, experiments and tests cannot be done. Therefore, instruments and equipment play an irreplaceable role in the laboratory and are the most important assets of the laboratory. So, how to manage scientifically and keep the instrument in good condition?

Instrument and equipment procurement plan management

To formulate the use plan of the instrument, it should be combined with the work task, the technical level of the user, the installation ability and conditions, and the funds.

The purchase of instruments and equipment should proceed from the actual situation, in line with the principles of use and economy, and select instruments and equipment with good quality, stable performance, and that can meet the work requirements.

Proofs must be strengthened for plans for expensive instruments and equipment. Specific users should go to the manufacturer to learn about the model, performance and quality indicators of the instrument, and go to the user unit to learn about the shortcomings and practical value of the instrument. Laboratory managers should choose instruments and equipment that meet the technical requirements of the specific standards of the experiment according to specific needs.

According to the situation of the laboratory, the laboratory management personnel will purchase instruments and equipment from the person in charge of the relevant laboratory, and then conduct market research after approval by the person in charge of the laboratory, and then select the relevant equipment supplier for bidding or directly go to the relevant instrument and equipment Manufacturers purchase.

Equipment installation acceptance, file management

After the equipment arrives, laboratory technicians must pay close attention to installation, commissioning, and acceptance. If problems are found, deal with them in time.

After the acceptance of instruments and equipment is completed, a ledger shall be established for all instruments and equipment that have passed the acceptance inspection, and unique identification and numbering shall be carried out on them. For each piece of equipment, a corresponding equipment file must be established, and the file information includes: resume, requisition form, acceptance form, verification (calibration) certificate, equipment maintenance records and other information.

During the warranty period, the instruments and equipment should be operated early and frequently, so as to find problems in time and deal with them as soon as possible.

Instrument and equipment usage management

Before daily use of instruments and equipment, a general ledger of instruments and equipment shall be established.

Measuring and testing instruments and equipment should be managed by designated personnel, operating procedures should be formulated, and records of use, inspection, verification, and maintenance should be kept.

For the contents of precious precision instruments and measuring and testing instruments files:

(1) Instrument and equipment information: certificate of conformity, product sample, packing list, application and maintenance instructions, circuit diagram and other relevant information.

(2) Use management information: operating procedures and maintenance regulations, use and maintenance records.

The files and account books of instruments and equipment should be kept by special personnel. When the custodian changes, the handover procedures must be carefully handled and they must not be lost.

The use of equipment should be checked regularly, and problems should be solved in time.

Manage status identification of instruments and equipment

The status identification is carried out after the acceptance, and the "management identification" and "status identification" should be carried out for each equipment in the laboratory.

There are generally three types of status identification:

(1) Green mark (the instrument has passed the verification (calibration) and is in normal use).

(2) Yellow mark (some functions have been lost, but the functions used for detection are normal and in use).

(3) Red mark (has been damaged or unqualified after verification and calibration, and is in a deactivated state).

The identification content includes: equipment name, model, manufacturer, management number, manager and other information. Last verification (calibration) date, verification result, verification unit, next verification date and other information.

After the equipment has passed the acceptance check, it should go to the corresponding qualified metrology institute or a third-party institution for verification (calibration) before use to confirm the status of the equipment.

Instrument and equipment maintenance and management

The maintenance of instruments and equipment should be based on prevention, and routine maintenance work should be done well.

Daily maintenance tasks:

A. Make a dust cover and keep the equipment clean;

B. After the daily work is completed, the easily polluted points of the equipment should be cleaned;

C. Regularly clean the appearance and detachable parts of the equipment;

D. Desiccant should be placed on the moisture-proof part of the instrument and equipment, and should be replaced frequently.

Instrument and equipment maintenance tasks:

A. Regularly inspect the equipment and perform general maintenance according to the instruction manual, and send it to the manufacturer for repair if necessary.

B. Draw up the purchase plan of maintenance spare parts and spare parts.

C. Check the safe use of equipment.
